As to what follows: In response to your question, we say: The correct opinion from the two opinions of the scholars on this issue is that the money to repay the debt is taken out from the total amount of money, and Zakat is payable on the rest of the money if it has reached nisab and a lunar year has passed while it is in someone’s possession.
