الجواب
Praise be to Allah, and may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and his companions.
To proceed:
Contemporary scholars have differed into three opinions with respect to investing in companies that deal in permissible activities if these activities are mixed with some prohibitions that are not related to investing such as interest borrowing or giving interest loans to banks:
First: Permissibility.
Second: Prohibition.
Third: Detested, though not investing is more appropriate.
What is apparent to me is that the third opinion seems to be more correct, if we are to take into account the requisites of piety, precaution and pure earning. This view was also held by Shaykh al-Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him).
And Allah the Exalted knows best.
Your brother,
Dr. Khalid al-Mosleh
