How do we reply to those who make takfir of those who aid the disbelievers in their war against Muslims من يعاونون الكفار في حربهم

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and his companions.

As to what follows:

In response to your question, we say, and with Allah Almighty lies all success:

These issues are major and dangerous ones, and many rulings stem from them. As such, I do not believe that what is at such a level should be dealt with in such a simple way concerning its introductions and conclusions. That is because passing a judgment of kufr (disbelief) on any given individual requires examining his action, whether it is indeed kufr or not; which should not be done by only using Islamic evidences. Then if it is established that the action is indeed kufr, you need to make a second examination, which is to examine applying the judgment of kufr on a specific individual, which is done by looking at whether conditions [of takfir] have been fulfilled and preventive measures [against takfir] are absent. This is regarding an individual, in whose case it is easy from the perspective of gaining such information. So how about that which is more complicated and difficult which pertains to the conducts of nations? Firstly, there needs to be verification of these incidents in question; a verification that is beyond any doubt; then examining its ruling; and then after that, examining the conditions [of takfir] and preventive measures [against takfir].

As such, I warn you from slipping into the traps of those who hasten and are quick to make takfir without insight or clear evidence. I further remind you of the conduct of the Prophet (peace be upon him) with the hypocrites, whose kufr and certainty thereof was known by revelation from the Lord of the worlds; how was he with them and in what way did he deal with them?
