Praise be to Allah, and may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family and his companions. Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. As to what follows: In response to your question, we say: It is permissible to feed nonbelievers because of the generality of Allah the Exlated’s statement that: “Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who did not fight against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity” [al-Mumtahanah 60: 8], and the statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which was transmitted by al-Bukhari and Muslim that “there is a reward for service to every living animal” [Al-Bukhari (2363) Muslim (2244)].
