Allah Almighty could relieve hardships of those afflicted with them and create for them supernatural phenomena even if they are disbelievers, as it has been narrated that an army of Muslims once laid siege to a fort of the disbelievers. The disbelievers became thirsty and their thirst intensified. So they called upon Allah to quench their thirst. So a cloud came and it rained on their fort till they drank, and the Muslims withdrew from them.
