The story of Hajjaj bin Yusuf’s attempt to deceive the people in laying siege to the Haram after a fire descended thereby burning the catapult, and his saying to them, “If it wasn’t for the fact that your deeds were accepted, the fire would not have descended thereby consuming it.”
